How to make the most of your Ramadan

How to make the most of your Ramadan

We’re almost a week into Ramadan and as is the case with most years, it’s going by so quickly! So what can we do to slow things down and try to make the most of this special month? Here are our tips:

CHECK IN WITH YOUR GOALS

Many people set goals at the beginning of the month, but Ramadan can be a really busy time with people balancing work, spirituality, and social plans all while fasting, so it’s easy to get caught up and lose focus. It’s a good idea to make a point to check in every week or so to see how it’s going and get back on track if you need.
What do you want to achieve this month? Are you working towards that? Are your goals still achievable? It’s completely okay if you need to adjust them, be kind to yourself this month! And if you didn’t set goals but want to, it’s not too late. You don’t have to start on the first of the month. You can start working towards something whenever you want to, you’ve got 30 chances to start!

CREATE A MANAGEABLE ROUTINE

There’s a lot going on in Ramadan and having a manageable routine will help you do everything you want to and still get enough rest so you can keep going. Try planning out your day and be mindful of how you’re spending your time (and include breaks so you don’t burn out!). Having a good sleep routine is also a good idea, whether it’s staying up until Fajr and waking up later in the day, or sleeping and waking up for Suhoor and Fajr - whatever works for you! Keep it consistent so you’re well-rested.

GIVE TO CHARITY

It is highly recommended to donate to charity during Ramadan and there are wonderful charities doing amazing work, so pick something close to your heart and help spread the blessings of Ramadan.

THINK ABOUT LIFE AFTER RAMADAN

Ramadan is a time to think about how we want to live our lives; what we want to do more of, the things we want to stop doing, or the people we want to distance from. Think about your life after Ramadan, set your intentions, make your goals, and decide how you’re going to work towards them to keep the momentum going!
